Dear friends,
Millions of people across the world are flooding the streets to reject corruption and injustice, and speak of a more beautiful world. From Brazil to Turkey and now Ukraine and Venezuela, Avaaz members are at the heart of the groundbreaking movements that are reshaping our world -- and now we have a plan to multiply them tenfold.
In Brazil, hundreds of Avaazers -- from young students to a veteran Senator -- have started their own petitions to tackle corruption, from their communities all the way to the capital. As millions across the world take to the streets, millions more are mobilising online to support petitions started by Avaaz members. And they're getting results -- one of them just helped get the Brazilian Congress to bury a dreadful law that would have stripped the Public Ministry of its ability to investigate corruption.
We've seen hundreds of victories like this with only a tiny staff, web tools in 17 languages, and one full time media consultant. Imagine what we could do together if we had a supercharged community petitions hub that would not only get thousands of people behind a cause, but also give out small grants to help community campaigners win -- we could literally transform our whole world! If each of us gave a small amount today, we could realise that dream.

With enough money we could:
And the stories are endless…
Fabricio started a petition to bring intensive care beds to a children's hospital in his community, and in just a few weeks he had over 3,000 signers, tons of media attention, and the intensive care unit was opened!
Shankar launched a campaign after his brother, one of 100 Indian workers trapped in Bahrain by an abusive employer, took his own life. When thousands signed and the media picked up the story, Shankar’s action tipped the scales, and his countrymen were allowed to travel home. Plus, India's government began the push to end abusive Bahraini work permits altogether!
A father in Pakistan was beside himself after his young disabled daughter, Rimsha, was wrongfully arrested and accused of “blasphemy.” His heartfelt plea was published on Avaaz’s petition site, and it helped unleash a global media uproar in support of young Rimsha -- who was freed weeks later.
If we had the tools to get hundreds of thousands of petitions like that, pretty soon we’d be changing the way our countries operated. And that rise of people-powered change from everywhere is enough to transform the entire world. Click below to be a part of it:
What we do together is inspiring -- we’ve protected forests, ousted corrupt politicians, saved whales and even worked together to help create a whole new country. The dream is that there's a campaign on every issue, in every city, so that no matter where injustice rears its head Avaaz members are able to tackle it head on. It's an ambitious dream, but one that we can make a reality with our community's support.
With so much hope for what we will achieve together,
Emma, Alex, Joseph, Carol, Christoph, Ricken, Jooyea, Michelle and the whole Avaaz team

- Hire the staff needed to work with petition creators to develop strong, Avaazy campaigns that win.
- Hire a multi-lingual media team that gets hard-hitting coverage of the best local petitions.
- Create a mailing tool that petition creators can use to email their signers and keep them up to date about the campaign.
- Fund translation of these important web tools in five more languages, like Mandarin and Hindi!
- Fund member-driven petition deliveries and advocacy and help those most affected by injustice travel to meet the decision-makers who matter.
